How to use hard wax?

  • Melt the Wax: Begin by melting the depilatory non-strip wax. Next turn your heater in a range - 65-75°C. Stir until it reaches a smooth, honey-like consistency. Adjust the temperature as needed. To check, lift the wax with a spatula; if it drips instantly, it’s too hot. If it remains solid for more than 3 seconds, it’s ready.
  • Test the Temperature: Apply a small test strip of wax on the inside of your wrist. This ensures the wax is at a safe temperature to avoid skin burns.
  • Prepare the Skin: Ensure the area to be waxed is thoroughly cleansed with Black Coral Wax Cleanser.
  • Pre-Wax Care: Always perform appropriate pre-wax skin care for optimal results.
  • Apply the Wax: Using a wooden spatula, apply the wax evenly in the direction of hair growth with gentle pressure.
  • Cool and Set: Allow the wax to cool until it is no longer sticky to the touch.
  • Remove the Wax: Hold the skin taut, grasp the edge of the wax, and peel it off briskly in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  • Post-Wax Care: Finish with Black Coral Wax After-Wax skin care to soothe and hydrate the area.

Why hard wax is better for Brazilian?

Hard wax is often considered better for Brazilian waxing for several reasons:

  1. Less painful: Hard wax sticks to the hair more than the skin, which means it pulls less on the skin and causes less pain during removal.
  2. Effective on thick hair: Brazilian waxing involves removing thick, coarse hair, and hard wax is particularly effective at grabbing this type of hair and pulling it out from the root.
  3. No strips needed: Hard wax hardens on its own and can be removed without the need for fabric strips, making it easier to apply, especially to delicate areas.
  4. Less risk of skin irritation: Because hard wax doesn’t stick as strongly to the skin, it’s less likely to cause irritation, making it a better choice for sensitive areas like the bikini line.
  5. Better for delicate skin: The skin in the Brazilian area is delicate, and hard wax is gentler, reducing the risk of bruising or tearing the skin.
  6. Hard wax allows for multiple applications to the same area of skin

While hard wax is often preferred for Brazilian waxing, the best choice can vary depending on individual preferences, skin sensitivity, and the specific wax formulation used.

What is better - waxing or laser?

We invite you to a blog post that discusses this topic.

Why laser is not effective:

- you cannot remove hair from body parts with a tattoo (!)

- laser very often does not work on light hair

- if you have high skin pigmentation and dark hair, laser may not be effective

- even 10-15 laser treatments do not guarantee that hair will not grow back

- laser hair removal treatments are very expensive

Can I mix different hard waxes?

Mixing waxes is possible but not recommended. We advise against combining waxes with different compositions, as each wax works differently and mixing can result in uneven performance.

How to clean a wax heater?

Cleaning a wax heater / wax warmer is tedious and requires special chemicals. The best method is prevention. Start using silicone inserts available in the store.

What is the difference between hard wax vs soft wax?

Soft wax requires a fleece or muslin strip to remove the hair and should be applied in thin layers. The strip is pressed onto the wax and then quickly peeled off, taking the hair with it. A common issue with soft wax is its temperature during application, as it tends to feel more intense compared to hard wax.

Hard wax, on the other hand, is thicker and is applied warm with a spatula. It hardens on the skin and can be removed without strips. For sensitive areas such as the bikini line, face or underarms, hard wax is usually preferred. It sticks to the hair rather than the skin, which reduces discomfort and the risk of irritation.

Soft wax can only be used once on a given area of skin and is therefore not as effective.

Is Waxing Better Than Shaving?

Waxing is most often repeated every 4-6 weeks. Wax removes hair along with the follicle. According to the experience of our beauticians, hair grows back slower and is thinner, and the skin becomes smoother and does not have a strawberry structure. Remember to use exfoliation and appropriate cosmetics.
